A Parent's Guide to Housing
The Straight Scoop
Your student may be feeling pressured to make a housing decision for next year. The options are exciting but the stresses of off-campus living—bills, cleaning, shopping, cooking and roommate concerns—are often overlooked.
We encourage you to explore all of the available housing options so you can discuss this important decision with your student. Costs, leases, safety, support and the affect of housing on academic success are important factors to take into consideration.
Four Reasons to Stick with University Housing
There are four very important reasons why 40% of our residents are sophomores, juniors or even seniors. Learn more
Contracts vs. Leases
The University Housing contract, like an off-campus lease, is a legal document intended to protect both your student and the University. Choosing University Housing
Students can sign up for on-campus housing beginning in January. At that time, our web site will include all of the information you and your student need to apply on-line. Until then, check back often for all the latest news and information.
2010/2011 University Housing Rates
The rates for next year’s room and board will be finalized in the Spring '10 by the University's Board of Regents. Until then, we can provide you with the current housing rates.

Life outside University Housing isn’t always easy. Every year, we hear stories like these from off-campus students.
“I knew right away I had made a poor roommate choice. I regretted it for the entire year.”
“I signed the lease, so when one person backed out, I got stuck paying the bill.”
“Making three meals a day is harder than I thought it would be.”
